botanical eco dyed scarfs

Painting and stencilling on fabric is a great way to bring our art onto something we might wear. But! I love the romance and earthiness of dyeing with botanicals and witnessing the unexpected each time a small project is complete and being surprised almost every time at the colours nature can offer us. I was led to this route by my botanical ink making exploits over the past ten years, for use in my art, and found some plants, and techniques were very similar across the processes. There are many very experienced dyers out there who have much technical experience, for me though its all about experimentation and the art of creation which brings the romance to these beautiful botanical scarfs
